Today RLR Creations will be providing you with a step by step process on How-To "Ink" the edges of your titles, which will allow you to add a gently distressed title that will warm up a clean edged page layout.
How to “ink” the edges of Titles
(For Photoshop and Elements)
1. Create a new layer and choose a broad stroke font for best results, then type your title.
(Futura is a great font choice- If you do not have this font you can download it here.)
2. In the Layers Palette, right click on the type layer and choose Simplify Layer.
3. Select the Magic Wand tool-Set the Tolerance to 1 and leave the Contiguous box unchecked.
Click anywhere on the title to select all of the letters.4. Press Delete
5. With the selection border still active (marching ants) Select Brush tool and load a small soft round brush.
6. Working in smooth strokes trace along the marching ants to “ink” the title irregularly.
7. After you have brushed around all of the letters choose Select>Deselect (Ctrl-D) to reveal your “inked” title.
It is as simple at those 7 steps. Use this technique to add flare to your digital scrapbooking titles!
