Today RLR Creations will be combining Wednesday and Thursday to make the ultimate scrapbooking event!! You will receive your free word art from Wednesday and a great new trick to add more style to your digital scrapbooking pages.
Text paths allow you to wrap your journaling around a photo, a photo mat, an ideal element, your page layout, or in a shape. This word art style is simple to add to your digital pages using pre-made text paths. Simply replace the existing placeholder text with your own journaling.
Today's word art freebie is a great princess crown text path, which celebrates our greatly requested new Disney Princesses Kit!
If you want the princess font featured in the preview you can download it here.
Simply download it and install it in your computer's font folder before opening up the freebie text path and then you can simply retype your text in place of the existing placeholder text.
In honor of it being Thursday, RLR Creations has a new trick for you to try out on all your digital scrapbooking pages! To jazz up your digital creations, follow the simple steps provided by RLR Creations in the following How-To tutorial on how to make write text on a path and take your journaling to the next level.
How to write text on a path in Photoshop
- Step 1: From the tool box select the Pen Tool and draw your path, you can drag the vector points and directional anchors around until you get the shape you want by using the direct select tool.
(Note: Creating a curved line is simple---just hold down the shift key as you drag out a line.)
**Photoshop Elements Users: Sorry writing text on a path is not supported in your software, however you can still enjoy the free premade path given as today’s freebie. Simply download the free text art path and open in your program, then change the included text with your own text.**
- Step 2: Once you have completed your outline and adjusted to your liking, select your Text tool and hover it over the path you make until the mouse cursor changes to a squiggly line through the text cursor. Click on the path and start typing.
- Step 3: If the text is showing up on a part where you did not want it, you can adjust the start and end points by selecting the Direct Select tool (Located under the Path Selection Tool, under your Text tool.), select it by pressing Shift + A until its active-but no more than twice. Hover over the start point of the text path until an arrow appears then drag it in to set the start point, then repeat for the end point.
Be sure to check into tomorrow for Freebie Friday to download something free that revolves around RLR Creations new creation. The entire Disney Princess collaboration kit will be available for purchase tomorrow from RLR Creations website.
